BEACHES
Anna Maria- Bayfront Park
On the northern End of Anna Maria Island, right next to the Anna Maria City Pier, is a secluded beach that fronts the north Intra-coastal waterway opening to the Gulf of Mexico. According to the locals, this is the best beach in the area for finding Sand Dollars and Scalloped Cockleshells. Sunbathers can enjoy a view of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on a soft white sand beach, with trees a few steps inland for shade. Park goers can enjoy amenities such as party pavilions, picnic tables, barbeque grills, restrooms, showers, and new playground equipment. No Lifeguards on Duty. Bradenton Beach- Coquina Beach
On Anna Maria’s southern tip is a lovely, very
large, and popular Public Beach with towering Australian Pines. Families enjoy
Coquina; which has a full service concession stand, ample parking, restrooms
and showers. The picnic area spans the whole park with picnic tables, barbeque
grills, and a playground. Lifeguards on Duty. Holmes Beach- Manatee Public Beach
The main public beach on the island, centrally
located on at Manatee Avenue and Gulf Drive, is a wide soft white sand beach. A
Beach Shop for anything you might need from lotion, chairs, towels, and
even a few souvenirs! There is a restaurant, and an outdoor café, ample
parking, restrooms, showers, a picnic area, playground, a volleyball area, and
a fishing pier. Lifeguards are on duty. |
